Maasai Giraffe Eco Lodge
Maasai Giraffe Eco Lodge is located in Northern Tanzania, at the foot of the Ol Donyoi Lengai volcano, next to Engaresero, a small isolated village that was created after the installation of the Loliondo-Arusha bus line, allowing the development of the village.
Ideally situated next to Lake Natron, in the vast plain of the Rift Valley surrounded by majestic volcanoes, our lodge offers you the opportunity to enjoy a wide range of activities.
The lodge, being located on the road to the great mythical parks such as the Ngorongoro Crater, the Serengeti and the Tarangire, you can organize your safari while taking a break in the heart of Maasai country.
You will be immersed in the heart of another age, in a unspoilt wilderness where you will
be able to observe the numerous birds that inhabit the surrounding area, such as pink flamingos, as well as wildlife.
Every morning, large groups of giraffes bypass the lodge on their way back from the river where they drink every night, offering the visitors a magnificent spectacle.
The local people living around the lodge are mainly Maasai. They perpetuate their pastoral way of life by keeping their livestock and moving their herds in perfect harmony with their environment. At the lodge you will have the opportunity to meet them and discover their way of life and traditions.
The United Nations counts Engaresero among the traditional models of life of global importance. (SATIM).
A part of the lodge's profits are reinvested in solidarity projects in collaboration with the local community.
Respect for nature shapes our daily practices, we reduce our environmental impact by using solar panels, water filters, reducing plastic and practicing permaculture or reforestation.
"A haven of peace and greenery in the middle of the Tanzanian bush. Animals, an original and preserved place, a warm welcome. Thanks a lot for that, we'll be back", Stéven L.
